After spending 10 years honing his skills in the trade, Tia Owen, founder of Te Ara Kaihanga, took a bold step into the unknown in 2023. With a deep passion for craftsmanship and a desire to create something uniquely his own, he embarked on the journey that would become Te Ara Kaihanga.

Tia’s vision was to build more than just structures. He wanted to create spaces that honored his heritage, supported his community, and stood as a testament to the values of sustainability and cultural integrity. This vision is the essence of “The Path of Creation”—a journey of risk, resilience, and reward that celebrates the courage to dream and the determination to bring those dreams to life.

Today, Te Ara Kaihanga remains deeply rooted in its Northland beginnings, crafting innovative spaces that inspire, uplift, and endure.
